FINDING GRACE AGAINST YOUR ACCUSER

The spirit of accusations coupled with condemnation is a trademark of the enemy. During His time of ministry Jesus was often confronted with a lot of accusations even after performing visible miracles or casting out demons from people who were oppressed for years. Accusations are meant to distract you from what God is doing in your life and from the greater blessings and victories He has in store for you.

Resisting the enemy in the last days!!!

The devil knows that your Heavenly Father loves you and approves of you, but he will still make every effort to make you feel inadequate and unfit. God’s grace is always sufficient for what He has called us for. As believers we need to depend more on God’s approval than the approval of man. Remember we are “God’s Masterpiece created in christ Jesus for good works…” (Ephesians 2:10). We are not made to fail. Before you were born God new you, He separated you and prepared you for a life of victory and success. The enemy knows that, but also knows that most believers are ignorant of the great grace and the blessing that is upon them. Just like he did with Adam and Eve, he took advantage of their ignorance of the glory that was upon them and got them to betray God’s goodwill for them.

In the book of Genesis (Gen 3:1-5) satan accused God of not revealing the whole truth to Adam and Eve about why they should not eat or touch the tree in the midst of the garden

Satan is the accuser of the brethren!

Revelation 12:10-12 (NKJV Strong's)

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

It is important for believers to always be aware of the twisted nature of the devil!

Accusations are meant to:

  1. Find fault in you
  2. Divide
  3. Disempower
  4. Burden you with what you’re not meant to carry
  5. Make you feel bad
  6. Discourage you from doing good
  7. Divert your attention from what is important
  8. Drain your energy
  9. Provoke you to anger and revenge
  10. Imprison you from your destiny e.g. Joseph wrongly accused and thrown in prison.

2 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV Strong's)

11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Zechariah 3:1-5 (NKJV Strong's)

Vision of the High Priest1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” 3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel.4 Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”5 And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.”So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.Accusations result in limitationsWhilst they still wondering in the wilderness, the people of Israel complained and murmured against God and Moses. They even went to the extent of questioning God’s intentions and accusing Moses of wanting them to die in the wilderness. Because of this, most of them ended up perishing in the wilderness and limiting God from fulfilling His promise during their lifetime!Psalms 78:41-42 (NKJV Strong's)41 Yes, again and again they tempted God,And limited the Holy One of Israel.42 They did not remember His power:The day when He redeemed them from the enemy,

God has already done enough to set us free from any form of condemnation and false accusations of the enemy! This what every believer should confess and take to heart every day.

God's Love and Approval Of His Children Is Unquestionable....

Romans 5:17 (NKJV Strong's)

17 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Romans 8:1-2 (NKJV Strong's)

Free from Indwelling Sin

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:14-17 (NKJV Strong's)

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

God Himself had to affirm His own Son and declared that He was WELL PLEASED WITH HIM

Matthew 3:17 (NKJV Strong's)

17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 17:5 (NKJV Strong's)

5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”

Luke 23:1-5 (NKJV Strong's)

Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate

1 Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.” 3 Then Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

He answered him and said, “It is as you say.”

4 So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this Man.”

5 But they were the more fierce, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.”

Types of accusations that the enemy will use against you:

  1. Challenging/questioning your Intentions
  2. Attitude - you may be accused of having a wrong attitude
  3. Character - character assassination
  4. Actions - misinterpretation of your actions
  5. Performance
  6. Ability to perform a task or advance to a higher level of responsibility
  7. Not doing enough
  8. Not deserving
  9. Not belonging
  10. Wrong doing
  11. Past failures

The danger of being an accuser

Judge not... Matthew 7:1

  1. You enable the plans of the enemy against fellow believers
  2. You can compromise God’s plans and decide people
  3. You can contribute in discouraging and destroying others

Ephesians 4:29-32 (NKJV Strong's)

29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

How should we respond to personal accusations?

The best way to deal with personal accusations is to keep quite, speak the word only about who you are in Christ, forgive and allow God to lift you up at the right time and in His own way. Attempting to clear your name or prove yourself right or fight back will only result in more regrets.

1 Peter 5:6-9 (NKJV Strong's)

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Remember the promise that God has given us as believers and what we should do in the face of attacks from the enemy!

Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV Strong's)

17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,

And every tongue which rises against you in judgment

You shall condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

And their righteousness is from Me,”

Says the Lord.
